Healthy living means taking care of your self today. This increases your opportunity for living a longer blessed filled life. People who develop good nutrition and fitness habits are less likely to have health problems. For example, many studies show that smoking can lead to cancer but yet many teenagers try to smoke despite the warnings. Healthy habits are choices that each individual must make and it is never too late.

Although modern medicine has triumph over many infectious diseases that have killed generations of ancestors, new health problems have emerged. Recent studies have shown that a lack of exercise is a major risk factor to heart disease. When a person is unfit, he or she will suffer from the following:

  • Lack of energy and physical strength;
  • Have excessive body weight;
  • Become vulnerable to physical, mental and emotional illnesses;
  • Suffer stiffness of joints;
  • Develop additions to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or food;
  • Have the inability to relax.

When this occurs, the ability to deal with stress and challenges can lead to abnormal thinking and behaviors. The first step for preventing this downward spiral is to know that God wants you to prosper in all areas of your life especially your health.
