"Life has so many adventures involved in it. Some referred to as "ups & downs". But if you stay focus and stay the course, you will find your niche and end up doing the things you enjoy the most. You must keep on striving!" This is the quote that I have on my facebook page. A year ago, I was 387 pounds at 6'2". I was diagnosed by my doctor as "morbid obesity". I was so big that if a person pushed their finger in my skin, it would leave an imprint. I had severe back pain and could not lay completely flat on the bed. I was a Type 1 diabetic. I had high blood pressure and retained a lot of fluid. I suffered from sleep apnea. All of these alignments were contributed to me being overweight.

I became depress due to the circumstances surrounding me. The first was the lost of my mother. Nothing prepares you for the death of a love one. When it happens, you have to deal with it. You can try to deny and avoid it but in the end, you must accept it. The next was not having regular work. In this economy today, your job is not promise to you. Companies have no problems letting you go when they don't need you. Businesses are shutting down all around us unexpectedly and people are trying to figure out how to make it. That brings me to the next issue. I had more bills then income. Food became my comfort not realizing how much and often I was eating. For instance, when the mother of my children was pregnant with our youngest son, I just couldn't let her eat alone. Even, after she had Lil' Will, I still couldn't stop eating alone. Soon, the kids were wearing me out.

I realized that if I did not change my eating habits and the circumstances surrounding my health, I am not going to be around for long for my family. I prayed for my children and God bless me with them. I want to be there every moment of there life. So, I regrouped. I started praying and fasting over my kids, my household and my finances. I read scripture and meditated on Mark 11:22-26 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

I started looking at food differently. I did not want anything in my body that was not good for me. I exercised doing push-ups, sit-ups, lifting and walking a lot. I lost 200 pounds. I went to school to learn a trade and got a regular job. I ended up having money in my pocket. And I found out where all my money was going when I cut back eating. Now I wear my kids out!! You got to love kids. They encourage and take care of us as well! I thank the Lord for blessing me with them and restoring me.
